Effective Selection and Recruitment Skills for Managers Training Program

Target Audience:
This course is aimed at Managers who are responsible for selection and recruitment. This program is suitable for both for new Managers and Managers who want to improve their overall selection techniques to achieve effective outcomes and avoid mistakes.
Key Objective:
Participants will get a firm basis of how to prepare and conduct a thorough, structured recruitment and selection interview using behavioural interview techniques.
Learning Outcomes:

At the conclusion of this program participants will be able to:

  • Avoid the most common interview mistakes and understand how effective interviewers get the most from an interview;
  • Know which questions not to ask in interview and learn how to structure an interview question to obtain job-relevant information without being misunderstood;
  • Understand what preparation is required to ensure that each interview is as effective as is possible;
  • Build rapport with candidates at the onset of the interview and maintain rapport during the interview using appropriate questioning techniques;
  • Write behavioural interview questions to obtain information from candidates' past work experience;
  • Understand and use the techniques required to obtain good outcomes to behavioural interview questions;
  • Opportunity to observe and practice interviewing with actors using behavioural interview questions and techniques;
  • Understand the importance of selling their organisation during the interview process and gain practice in how to build this into each interview;
  • Use effective techniques to control the interview; and
  • Know how to obtain and give references and how to avoid common pitfalls.
Structure & Resources: Full day - 9am to 5pm, up to 16 participants per session.

Delivered by a Senior iHR Australia Facilitator and Workplace Reality Theatre (Professional actors).
Delivery Options: This program is delivered to the public or can be delivered in-house at your organisation, whereby the program is tailored using your organisation's policies, procedures and values.
Cost: Public: $595 + GST per participant including catering and manuals (discounts apply for 2+ participants)

In-house: quoted on a proposal basis according to the number of participants, desired number of sessions and general organisational requirements or requests.
