Contact Officer Refresher Training Program

Target Audience:
Existing Contact Officers.
Key Objective:
To review the role and responsibilities of a Contact Officer and the skills to be an effective Contact Officer.
Learning Outcomes:

At the conclusion of this program participants should:

  • Have a revised understanding of the role of an Equal Employment Opportunity / Anti-bullying Contact Officer within their organisation;
  • A revised understanding of the behaviour expected of a Contact Officer on a daily basis;
  • A revised understanding of the processes for dealing with allegations of bullying or workplace discrimination in the workplace; and
  • A revised understanding of the federal and state legislation in relation to unlawful discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying and how it impacts on the company, employees and the role of the Contact Officer.
Outline:

Legal:

  • An in-depth review of what constitutes discrimination, bullying and harassment in the workplace
  • Function and jurisdiction of the Contact Officer

Ideas, Discussion and Facilitation:

  • 'You the person' and being a Contact Officer
  • Role modelling non-discriminatory behaviours
  • Objectively handle Equal Employment Opportunity issues face-to-face
  • Advising employees and contractors on their rights and options when an issue arises

Workplace Reality Theatre:

  • Equal Employment Opportunity case studies.
  • Dealing with emotional issues.
  • Mapping and role-playing issues resolution.
  • Opportunity to partake in practical exercises.
Structure & Resources: 4 hours, up to 16 participants per session.

Delivered by Senior Program Facilitator and Workplace Reality Theatre (Professional actors).
Delivery Options: Public and In-house, whereby the program is tailored using your organisation's policies, procedures and values.
